New for 2018

2018 brings some major improvements to the beloved SUV; in fact, 2018 marks the beginning of the fourth generation of Ford Expedition. The engine has been made bigger and more powerful, and there are now two engine options. The maximum tow rating of 9,300 pounds is up 100 pounds from last year. The Ford Expedition follows in the path set by the Ford F-150, and now bears a lightweight (yet still tough) aluminum body. Ford also increased the length of the Expedition by four inches, and the wheelbase by three inches. The new grille gives the Ford Expedition a bold new style.

The 2018 Ford Expedition also has some tech features that weren't on last year's model. With six available USB ports, as well as an available wireless charging pad, it's easier than ever to keep your devices topped off on long road trips. Entertaining the kids on a road trip is easy, thanks to the new built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot compatibility, which is capable of supporting up to ten different devices at once. Comfort and Capability

The 2018 Ford Expedition can comfortably seat eight, and has comes in two varieties: the Ford Expedition, and the extra-long Ford Expedition MAX. Both the second and third rows of seats fold down, for when you need as much cargo space as possible. The standard 2018 Ford Expedition has 104.6 cubic feet of space behind the first row, 57.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row, and 19.3 cubic feet of space. The 2018 Ford Expedition MAX has 121.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row, 73.3 cubic feet behind the second row, and 34.3 cubic feet behind the third row.

Power and Performance

Under the hood of the standard 2018 Ford Expedition is a standard turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine, which gives out 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Drivers looking for even more power will be interested in the Ford Expedition Platinum, which provides engine tweaks to increase its power to 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Each engine is hooked up to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard with available four-wheel drive. When properly equipped, the 2018 Ford Expedition has a best-in-class tow-rating of 9,300 pounds-more than enough power to handle anything you throw at it.

Technology

The 2018 Ford Expedition comes standard with the  Ford Sync infotainment system, with a 4.2-inch display screen. Bluetooth connectivity means that you can sync up your favorite devices to the nine-speaker sound system. The upgraded Ford Sync 3 infotainment system is also available, and it brings an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, for enhanced smartphone connectivity. Available Sync connect adds even more features; the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality keeps the kids entertained on long road trips, or helps your passenger get some work done on the go, and wireless phone charging capability helps you keep your devices topped-off on the go. In fact, the 2018 Ford Expedition offers many ways to charge your devices. The available 110-volt outlet can charge almost anything, and there is an available pair of USB ports for each row of seats.
